Q) How do I copy my old Blackboard course onto my new course?

A) If you are the course's Designer, use the following instructions to copy your old course onto your new course.

*Note: You only have the option to copy a course the first time that the course is accessed by a Designer.*

If you do not use this opportunity to import the content from one course to another you will be able to import Learning Modules, Assessments and the Questions Database separately at a later time.

After logging into Blackboard click the name of the course that you want to work with on the My Blackboard page.

The following page is displayed:

The options for creating/copying a course.
Figure 1: The options for creating/copying a course.
(Click on image for larger version.)

  • Select Copy content from another course.
  • Click Continue. A list of courses that you are enrolled as a designer in will be displayed.
  • Click the circle next to the course that you want to copy the content from. Be sure that you select the correct course or you will have to contact Technology Support to have your course restored.
  • Click Continue. Depending on how much content is in the course, this may take several minutes.

After the import finishes the following screen will be displayed:

The start of your copied course.

You can either click Do not show me this page again then click Done or just click Done.

You can now begin working with your course.
