Q) How do I access voice mail remotely with the new phone system?
A)
- To access voice mail when you are away from your desk the easiest method is to dial 7500 or 788-7500. When the general greeting begins, press the * key. You will be prompted for your ID (your extension number) and then for your password. You will then be able to check your messages.
- To get directly to any voice mail box when you are on campus, press the * key, then dial the 4 digit extension.
- To bypass the greeting when you get to a voice mailbox, press #.
- Press 1 immediately after entering your password # to hear new messages. You do not have to wait until prompted to enter the 1.
- When you delete messages, they go into an "old mail" folder. They will remain in that folder for 2 days and then be deleted completely. This is what is referred to when you hear prompts to listen to old mail.
